After a comfortable calm sea crossing from Cartagena, Colombia to Panama. We are once again in the San Blas Islands. Turquoise water, coral reefs, an assortment of multi coloured fishes, dolphins visiting and playing around Ave Maria. Greeting us as we arrive under a brilliant rainbow. It’s a beautiful sunny day.
Someone asked if ‘after all these years do we ever get bored with this life?’
What can I say? Other than ‘I never get bored being immersed in paradise. Can life be better than this?’

Our days on this sailboat from Cartagena to Panama and island hopping through the San Blas Islands were dreamy. Five full days living completely off the grid, living the simple life, eating delicious food made by the best chef in Colombia. Snorkeling the coral reefs, relaxing and exploring the beaches and islands with the water oh so clear.

On a boat Panama to Colombia
“Smell the sea,
and feel the sky.
Let your soul and spirit fly.”
So usually we run a policy of what happens on the boat stays on the boat. Though this was just too funny not to share. On this Boat Panama to Colombia.
During our last fabulous trip sailing from Cartagena to Panama we arrive and anchored at this island a little after dark. While some of the passengers were blissfully sleeping.
Shortly before sunrise one of the girls who had been sleeping when we arrive woke Sindry saying; ‘we are heading straight for an island and no one is driving’
Sindry told her that every thing is ok we have stopped traveling.
After while she returned quite concerned saying that the boat was moving and we are going to sail straight into the island.
Little did she realise that the sails had all been packed away. The engine was switched off and the anchor was down. Oops!
Lots of giggles over breakfast and a great day ahead.
The sand may brush off.
The tans may fade and the salt may wash clear.
But the memories will last forever.

Another group of Happy Travelers arriving in Cartagena after an awesome sailing trip from Panama to Colombia.
Sailing in San Blas
We experienced 3 delightful days anchored by the sun kissed, coconut palm lined beaches of our favourite uninhabited islands in paradise. Each day after breakfast we weighed anchor and sailed a short distance to a different island where we swam, explored and relaxed.
Each night after dinner a beach bonfire was enjoyed by all with some choosing to sleep in hammocks under the stars on the island … sensational.
On the second day I gathered firewood and cooked up the famous all you can eat bbq buffet.
A great trip, with a great group of people!
Oh and by the way. Once again no one was sea sick. It was a very comfortable ride across the Caribbean Sea on this sailboat from Panama to Colombia.
We have just completed another fabulous trip on Ave Maria with a great group of people. Departing on the 14th of September, sailing from Cartagena to Panama we experienced extremely calm seas with a gentle breeze.
Our Caribbean Sea crossing voyage was around 32 hours and everyone enjoyed a comfortable ride on the boat Cartagena to Panama. One of the many advantages of sailing a large yacht of old school design.
Again we were visited by large pods of dolphins. Playfully performing to entertain both us and themselves. Always the most pleasant companions!
In the idyllic San Blas Islands we had our favourite uninhabited islands to ourselves for 3 stunning full days in paradise!
